President's Report

Create Your Own Opportunity – Volunteer!

At the PMI Space Coast Florida Chapter meeting in October, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Tom Shieves, a consultant, author, speaker, and coach who recently penned the book, “Opportunity Unstuck!”, which describes methods that promote future success by discovering opportunities that are perfect for you.

Without delving too deeply in Dr. Shieves’ presentation, some of the key tenets that resonated throughout the evening included volunteering and becoming engaged. With these principles serving as a backdrop, the PMI Space Coast Florida Chapter is seeking additional support to our organization as we head into 2010; new volunteer opportunities are plentiful.

Our organization now stands at 327 members strong and we are growing fast. In order to continue to offer exceptional professional development opportunities, promote best practices in project management, and reach as many Chapter members as possible, the Board needs your help.   Starting in 2010, we are launching a new Chapter organization that formally recognizes key Director positions supporting the Board. (see Figure 1).   The positions highlighted in yellow are open to all PMI Space Coast, FL members; the VP positions highlighted in yellow are open Board member positions with nominations currently being accepted through our Election process.
