Thanks to everyone who came out to our Q2 dinner last month, hope you enjoyed the presentation! Ruble Chandy gave an excellent presentation on "The 5 Secrets of World Class Leaders" and even gave out several copies of his best selling book. We've already started planning our Q3 dinner and looking forward to the next event. In addition we have a few professional development events coming up this fall to be on the look out for:
Profesional Development Day - We've teamed up with several PMI chapters in the Southeast region to offer a virtual PDD coming in September, dates will be posted shortly. There will be an opportunity to earn up to 16 PDUs during this event and you will be able to pick from several topics and webinars.
PMP Boot Camp - We are offering an in person and hybrid option in October. Look out for the registration emails if you are interested. In addition, we are also looking at other courses the chapter would like to see, such as an agile certification, risk management, updates to the new PMBOK, etc. If you would like to provide your feedback on future courses, please send them to our VP of Professional Development, Raquel Rogers-Pinter, firstname.lastname@example.org.
As we head into the fall, we are preparing for the PMI Space Coast Chapter Board Elections. Elections for certain board positions will be starting in October. For those that don't know, our board positions are 2 year terms, and half of the board goes up for election each year. There will be several board openings this fall so if you are considering joining a great team and giving back to the PMI community, please be on the look out for the upcoming election information and requirements. We're hoping to see a lot of new faces on the ballot!
The PMI Talent Triangle is evolving to better reflect the skills needed by today’s project professionals and changemakers as they navigate the evolving world of project management.
Since the introduction of the Talent Triangle, PMI has evolved. In addition to a new brand, PMI has embraced a wide variety of approaches and skillsets, and has adopted a new strategic focus for creating 10x impact and driving change. At the same time, the world has seen dramatic changes in ways of working and delivering results.
To help project professionals navigate this changing world of work and embrace smarter ways of working, we’ve made the following changes:
The Technical Project Management side will be replaced with “Ways of Working”
The Strategic and Business Management side will be replaced with “Business Acumen”
The Leadership side will be replaced with “Power Skills”
