Hope everyone has had a great and eventful summer. We had a great turn out at our last networking event and welcomed several new members! We look forward to our dinner event next month and have a few professional development events coming up this fall to be on the look out for:
PMP Boot Camp - We are offering an in person and hybrid option in October. This will be a 5 day session that will include the 35 PDU hours needed to sit for the exam. In addition, we are also looking at other courses the chapter would like to see, such as an agile certification, risk management, updates to the new PMBOK, etc. If you would like to provide your feedback on future courses, please send them to our VP of Professional Development, Raquel Rogers-Pinter, email@example.com.
As we head into the fall, we are preparing for the PMI Space Coast Chapter Board Elections. Elections for certain board positions will be starting in October. The following positions will be up for election this fall:
Chief Operating Officer
VP of Marketing
VP of Administration
If you are considering joining a great team and giving back to the PMI community, please be on the look out for the upcoming election information and requirements. We're hoping to see a lot of new faces on the ballot!
Dr. Jonathan Reed (FIT Professor, PMI ATP Instructor, and President of Strategy First Consulting) will be our guest speaker answering the question, What the heck did they do to the PMBOK?
The PMBOK 7th Edition was released in July 2021 and changed our view of project management substantially from the previous edition. By attending this event you will learn about the nature and rationale for the changes. You will also hear about related initiatives at the PMI including the new talent triangle, ways of working, certification updates, etc. If you want to keep your PMP knowledge current, are preparing to take the PMP exam, or are just curious about the new PMBOK, you will not want to miss this event. You may also win a prize!
