Hope everyone had a safe few days as we get through Hurricane Ian! As we head into the fall season, we have a lot of great events coming up from the Chapter and PMI. We look forward to our dinner event coming up on October 6th and hearing about the new PMBOK changes from Dr. Jonathan Reed. Registration info is listed below in this newsletter. We also have a few professional development events coming up in the next few weeks to be on the look out for:
PMP Boot Camp - We are offering an in person and hybrid option in October. This will be a 5 day session that will include the 35 PDU hours needed to sit for the exam. In addition, we are also looking at other courses the chapter would like to see, such as an agile certification, risk management, updates to the new PMBOK, etc. If you would like to provide your feedback on future courses, please send them to our VP of Professional Development, Raquel Rogers-Pinter, email@example.com.
PMI Global Summit - This year PMI is hosting their Global Summit in Las Vegas at Ceasar's Palace on 1-3 December. PMI Global Summit 2022 will bring together the largest community of changemakers, leaders, and project professionals committed to making ideas reality. Learn to build a stronger future for yourself, your work, and your world. This is an outstanding event with project management professionals and great speadkers from all over the world. A few of our PMI Space Coast board members will be in attendance and hope to see some more familiar faces! Registration is open now, more info can be found here: https://pmiglobalsummit2022.gcs-web.com/
I'd also like to welcome 2 new members to our Space Coast board: Allyson Holley is our new Director of Elections and Steve Natschkeis our new VP of Marketing! We're excited to have you both on the team!
We are also preparing for the PMI Space Coast Chapter Board Elections! If you'd like to join a great team and give back to the PMI community, please consider running for one of our open positions. Service on the of PMI Space Coast Florida Chapter (PMISCF) Board of Directors is a rare opportunity to help drive the decisions of our local chapter, collaborate with other PMI leaders regionally and globally, and grow as a leader. Officers serve a two-year term that begins January 1 of the year following the election.
The PMISCF Chapter election process is structured to provide continuity of service; half our positions are elected in odd years with the other half elected in even years. Veteran officers remain on the board to guide new officers as they learn their new roles.
