Building Connections & What’s Next: PMI Space Coast Networking Night Recap
A Night of Real Conversations (Not Just Business Cards)
Members and guests mixed, mingled, and swapped stories about projects, career moves, and lessons learned in the wild world of project management.
We saw:
- New members meeting the board for the first time
- Seasoned PMs sharing war stories with those earlier in their careers
- Conversations around certifications, industry shifts, and how to stay sharp in a changing landscape
It was exactly what a networking night should be: relaxed, welcoming, and full of practical value.
Introducing Our Virtual Networking Pilot
Not everyone can make it to in-person events—traffic, schedules, and life happen. That’s why we’re excited to launch a Virtual Networking pilot designed to make it easier for more members to engage.
In our brief announcement, we shared that the pilot will:
- Offer a way to connect from anywhere—home, office, or on the go
- Focus on small-group conversation, not just passive listening
- Create space to talk about real challenges, questions, and wins in your projects
Details on dates, format, and how to register will be shared soon via email and on the chapter website.
Lunch & Learns: Professional Development You Can Actually Fit In
We also announced upcoming Lunch & Learn sessions.
These will be:
- Short, focused sessions you can join over your lunch break
- Designed to deliver practical tips, tools, and insights you can apply immediately
- Opportunities to earn PDUs while staying connected to the PMI Space Coast community
Think: 45–60 minutes of value, right in the middle of your day.
Your Chapter Needs You: Call for Volunteers
One of the biggest themes of the evening was engagement.
As I (Amanda Harris, VP Communications) and Traci Hildreth, VP of Professional Development, shared last night, the chapter is powered by volunteers—members like you who choose to get involved, share ideas, and help shape our programs.
We’re currently looking for volunteers who are interested in:
- Supporting professional development events (like our Lunch & Learns and virtual networking)
- Helping with membership engagement and outreach
- Assisting with communications, content, and storytelling about our chapter
Volunteering is a great way to:
- Build leadership and communication skills
- Expand your network beyond your day job
- Have a voice in the direction of the chapter
If you’re even curious about volunteering, we’d love to talk with you.
What’s Next
Over the next few weeks, keep an eye out for:
- Announcements about the Virtual Networking pilot
- Details and registration links for upcoming Lunch & Learns
- Specific volunteer roles and how to raise your hand
Thank you to everyone who came out, shared a conversation, and helped create such a warm, collaborative atmosphere. Check out our pics from last night's event!
