PMI Space Coast Member Spotlight: Ugly Sweaters, Great Conversations, and Real Connections at Network Launch

Current Events

In December, I had the opportunity to attend a local networking event hosted by Network Launch (Launch on Florida’s Space Coast), and it was exactly the kind of community-building experience that reminds me why relationships are still the best career strategy.

I was invited by Steven Natschke, a fellow PMI Space Coast member, and I’m genuinely glad I said yes. The event was hosted by our own PMI Space Coast member, Angela Neal, who has built these gatherings to connect local employers, recruiters, job seekers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders in a welcoming, low-pressure environment.

The December meetup: Ugly Sweater Theme at Hell ’n Blazes

The December event took place on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Hell ’n Blazes Brewing Company (1002 E New Haven Ave, Melbourne), and the theme was (appropriately) Ugly Sweaters.

From the moment I walked in, the vibe was easygoing and upbeat—great refreshments and beverages, a fun crowd, and lots of friendly introductions. It felt less like “forced networking” and more like a room full of people who were genuinely open to conversation.

Ice breakers that actually worked

We kicked things off with a light ice breaker and a game that quickly got everyone talking. It made it easier to meet people outside of your usual circle—and it helped the room feel connected early in the evening (which is not always the case at networking events).

As a result, I made several valuable connections and had conversations that ranged from career transitions and hiring needs to local business growth and community support.

Why this matters for PMI Space Coast members

PMI Space Coast is full of talented professionals—project managers, program leaders, process improvement practitioners, and change agents. Events like Network Launch create a practical space to:

  • Build relationships with local employers and recruiters
  • Connect with other professionals who can open doors (or help you open them)
  • Strengthen your visibility and confidence through real conversation—not just online applications
  • Plug into a community that actively supports career and business growth

Angela’s goal with Launch is clear: bring people together in ways that lead to meaningful connections and momentum—especially for job seekers (including those from the military and veteran community) and the employers and advocates who want to support them.

Want to join the next one?

Launch on Florida’s Space Coast is a monthly event, and upcoming sessions are already posted (including dates in January, February, March, and April 2026, typically 5:30–7:30 PM).

For PMI Space Coast members who want to expand their network in a relaxed setting, I highly recommend attending an upcoming event. Bring a colleague, wear something fun, and show up ready to meet great people.

Thank you again to Angela Neal for hosting and to Steven Natschke for the invitation. I’m looking forward to attending future events—and I hope to see more PMI Space Coast members there as well.
