Quarterly Virtual Dinner Meeting: Leadership So You Can Sleep at Night
Power Skills
by Captain Flip Capistrano, U.S. Coast Guard Military Attaché to Brazil A healthy and productive tomorrow is often dependent on a good night’s sleep. As a leader, the decisions you make during the day can greatly impact the evening’s restful slumber, putting your tomorrow in jeopardy. After over 25 years as a Coast Guard officer, CAPT Capistrano has learned a thing or two about making those tough, moral, and ethical decisions and how to ensure they don’t keep you tossing and turning all night. In this virtual keynote, CAPT Capistrano illustrates how he’s attained this capability by sharing his leadership experiences and anecdotes from his time driving cutters, conducting counter-drug operations, flying Search and Rescue missions, instructing pilots, building Coast Guard aviation strategies, and strengthening international partnerships. From a Coast Guard Academy Cadet to an advisor at an American Embassy, he has learned to adjust his “leadership view” to meet new levels of challenge. CAPT Capistrano defines guidelines founded on three tenets; Know Your Job, Know Your People, and Know Yourself, and describes how it can be applied to leadership opportunities at your workplace, at home, or in your community. At the end of the day, every decision you make impacts lives around you. Most to a minor extent, but some with major consequences. Are you confident you’ve made the right decision, and will it let you sleep peacefully tonight? PMI Space Coast is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
