• Self-nominations are permitted for all awards.
  • Nomination period is from August 25 to September 20, 2025
  • The Awards Director will verify nominee eligibility within ten (10) business days of nomination
  • A Selection Committee will be convened in November to select award winners.
    • Nominees and nominators shall not be involved in the selection process
    • If the Selection Committee is unable to agree on a final award recipient, the PMI Board will make the final decision
  • Other than Project of the Year, nominees cannot serve on the Space Coast PMI Board during the nomination period.

PMI Space Coast Member of the Year 

Award Description: To recognize and honor a PMI Space Coast Member for their significant contribution to achieving the PMI Space Coast Mission of advancing the project management profession on Florida’s Space Coast. 

Criteria for award:  

  • Nominator must be a member of the PMI Space Coast Chapter in good standing 
  • Nominee must have either 
  • Led an initiative to enhance the reputation of the PMI Space Coast Chapter within the award year, or  
  • Made significant contributions to member activation or membership growth of the PMI Space Coast Chapter. 
  • Nominee shall be willing to provide detailed information concerning the initiative or contribution 
  • Nominee shall ensure there are no restrictions on the use of submitted information and permission has been obtained for the use of any copyrighted materials 

PM of the Year 

Award Description: The Project Manager of the Year is open to the entire PMISCFC membership. This award is intended to recognize excellence in project management; therefore, nominations should demonstrate high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution that resulted in value and positive impacts for the organization and society.

Criteria for award:

  • Project budget must be greater than $5M USD
  • Project of any type, from any industry, in public or private sectors
  • Project from any geographic area in the world
  • The project must have been completed no more than 18 months before the PMISCFC Awards application deadline.
  • The PM has made a significant positive difference to the outcome of the project in the year preceding the award nomination. The success of the project is not a primary criterion; instead, the award is for the PM’s capability and contribution to that project.
  • PM’s contribution is recognized and supported by his/her management, customer or end user, and project team.
  • The PM has a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Project Management theory and holds a PMI certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM, PgMP).

Rookie PM of the Year 

Award Description: To recognize and honor an up-and-coming PMI Space Coast Chapter Project Manager for their accomplishments and skills in the execution of a project or in the advancement of the project management profession.

Criteria for award:

  • Nominator must be a member of the PMI Space Coast Chapter in good standing
  • Nominee must have provided a significant accomplishment in their field within the award year.
  • Nominee shall have been employed as a project manager for 3 years or less.
  • Nominee shall be willing to provide detailed information concerning the project or the outstanding achievement
  • Nominee shall ensure there are no restrictions on the use of submitted information and permission has been obtained for the use of any copyrighted materials

Volunteer of the Year 

Award Description: To recognize and honor a PMI Space Coast Chapter Member for their volunteer service that has made a significant impact on the Space Coast at large. 

Eligibility 

  • Nominator must be a member of the PMI Space Coast Chapter in good standing 
  • Nominee must have volunteered for their non-profit (501c3) organization of choice for at least six months within the award year 
  • Nominee shall have made a significant contribution to advancing the goals and objectives of the organization to which they have volunteered 
  • Nominee shall be willing to provide detailed information concerning their volunteer service 
  • Nominee shall ensure there are no restrictions on the use of submitted information, and permission has been obtained for the use of any copyrighted materials 

 

Project of the Year 

Award Description: To recognize a complex project executed on the Space Coast that best delivered:

  • Superior performance of project management practices
  • Superior organizational results
  • Positive impacts on society

Criteria for award:

· The project must have been completed no more than 12 months before the nomination deadline.
